Back When We Were Beautiful - Lyrics - Matraca Berg

Title: Back When We Were Beautiful
Artist: Matraca Berg
Composer(s): Matraca Berg

{AdsenseCode:2D080010-7055-443A-8D12-2B79DDC71256}

Lyric:
I guess, you had to be there, she said, "You had to be"
She handed me a yellowed photograph and then said
"See, this was my greatest love, my one and only love
And this is me back when we were beautiful, see"

I don't feel very different, she said, "I know it's strange
I guess, I've gotten used to these little aches and pains
But I still love to dance, you know we used to dance the night away
Back when we were beautiful, beautiful, yes"

I hate it when they say, I'm aging gracefully
I fight it everyday, I guess, they never see
I don't like this at all what's happening to me, to me

"But I really love my grandkids", she said, "They're sweet to hold
They would have loved their grandpa those awful jokes he told
You know sometimes for a laugh, the two of us would act
Like we were old, back when we were beautiful, beautiful, yes"

But I guess, you had to be there, she said, "You had to be"
She handed me a yellowed photograph and then said
"See, this was my greatest love, my one and only love
And this is me back when we were beautiful, see"

Do You Remember - Lyrics - Make It Good - A1

Title: Do You Remember
Album: Make It Good
Artist: A1
Composer(s): Tim Woodcock, Ben Adams, Mark Read

Lyric:
Du tu, du tu tu tu tu tu
Du tu, du tu tu tu tu tu
Du tu, du tu tu tu tu tu
Du tu, du tu tu tu tu tu

Looking back on yesterday, memories won't fade away
I can't forget the love we made, so beautiful, we had it all
No use looking to the past, we both knew it wouldn't last
But it was fun, we had a blast, so beautiful, as I recall
Where did it go?

Say do you remember the 1st of December
When we were riding on the back seat
Turn the radio on and play our favorite song
We were making out the the back seat
My girl'd get sad and your man'd get mad
But they don't have to know
Do you remember singing?

Du tu, du tu tu tu tu tu
Du tu, du tu tu tu tu tu

Breaking rules we always would
Doing things we never should
We were so bad but it felt so good
Do you remember, I think I remember

I wonder where you are tonight
But I know that you'll be alright
'Cause I see our star is shining bright
It's so beautiful, it will never fall
Where did it go?
Come on now, sing it loud!

Say do you remember the 1st of December
When we were riding on the back seat
Turn the radio on and play our favorite song
We were making out the the back seat
My girl'd get sad and your man'd get mad
But they don't have to know, yeah
Do you remember singing?

Du tu, du tu tu tu tu tu
Du tu, du tu tu tu tu tu
Du tu, du tu tu tu tu tu
Du tu, du tu tu tu tu tu

Looking back on yesterday, memories won't fade away
I can't forget the love we made so beautiful, we had it all
Where did it go?
Come on now, sing it loud!

Say do you remember the 1st of December
When we were riding on the back seat
Turn the radio on and play our favorite song
We were making out the the back seat
My girl'd get sad and your man'd get mad
But they don't have to know, yeah
Do you remember singing?

Du tu, du tu tu tu tu tu
Du tu, du tu tu tu tu tu
But the guess is over now

Back When It Was - Lyrics - In My Mind - Heather Headley

Title: Back When It Was
Album: In My Mind
Artist: Heather Headley
Composer(s): Johnta M Austin, Larry Nix, Jonathan Smith, La Marquis Jefferson, Craig Love

Lyric:
I got a song in my heart
Let me start with I'm over you
Still it can't hurt me to say
Every plain, I think about you

And the laughs and the jokes
And the times that I shared with you
Oh, you should remember

I've got this feeling for reminiscing
I wanted to take that trip down memory lane
What is missing is that you're not here
To sit down with me, no, no
So I'm thinking these beautiful things all by myself
And what's on my mind is

Back when it was
(Simple as breathing)
Just the two of us
We were happy together

It was easy to be in
Our relationship
You remember when
You used to say you loved me so
Promised one time to never go away, yeah
And now you're gone, gone

The smile that you left me with
Is the same smile I've kept on wearing
The smile's not so much tied to you
More tied to what we spent sharing

Simple little things
But it was all those simple little things
That pleased me the most

Oh, and I remind you 'bout the good times, baby
There were good times from the start
Good times in my heart
A heart that never lied

Remember back in '99
Oh, we snuck into the neighbor's pool and went for a dip
There were good times in the rain
Good times everyday

Good times heaven knows
Remember that dirty little joke
Made us laugh all night long

Back when it was
(Simple as breathing)
Just the two of us
We were happy together

It was easy to be in
Our relationship
You remember when
You used to say you loved me so
Promised one time never go away
And now you're gone, gone

The joy you left me with, nothing stronger since
What we did together
I ain't felt nothing better since that time

Those were the days, the nights
The hours, the minutes
The seconds that you were mine

Back when it was
(Simple as breathing)
Just the two of us
We were happy together

It was easy to be in
Our relationship
You remember when
When you used to say you loved me so
Baby, please [Incomprehensible]
Never go away
Now you're gone, gone

Jamaica Mistaica - Lyrics - Jimmy Buffett

Title: Jamaica Mistaica
Artist: Jimmy Buffett
Composer(s): Jimmy Buffett, Roger Guth, Jim Mayer, Russ Ward, Peter Hagen Mayer

{AdsenseCode:2D080010-7055-443A-8D12-2B79DDC71256}

Lyric:
Some folks say that I've got the perfect life
Three swell kids, lots of toys and a lovely wife
I fly, I sail, I throw caution to the wind
Drift like a stratus cloud above the Carribean

But every now and then, the dragons come to call
Just when you least expect it you'll be dogin' cannon balls
I've seen too much not to stay in touch
With a world full of love and luck
I've got a big suspicion 'bout ammunition
I never forget to duck

Come back, come back, back to Jamaica
Don't you know we made a big mistaica
We'd be so sad if you told us goodbye
And we promise not to shoot you out of the sky

It was a beautiful day the kind you want to toast
We were tree top flyin' movin' west along the coast
Then we landed in the water, just about my favorite thrill
When some asshole started firing as we taxied to Negril

Just about to lose my temper as I endeavored to explain
We had only come for chicken we were not a ganja plane
Well you should have seen their faces when they finally realized
We were not some coked up cowboys sporting guns and alibis

Come back, come back, back to Jamaica
Don't you know we made a big mistaica
We'd be so sad if you told us goodbye
And we promise not to shoot you out of the sky

They shot from the lighthouse
They shot from the highway
They shot from the top of the cliff
They had all gone haywire
We're catchin' fire and there wasn't even a spiff

Well the word got out all over the island
Friends, strangers, they were all apologizin'
Some thought me crazy for being way too nice
But it's just another shitty day in paradise

Come back, come back, back to Jamaica
Don't you know we made a big mistaica
We'd be so sad if you told us goodbye
And we promise not to shoot you out of the sky

Come back, come back, back to Jamaica
Don't you know we made a big mistaica
We'd be so sad if you told us goodbye
And we promise not to shoot you
Promise not to shoot you
Promise not to shoot you out of the sky

Psycho - Lyrics - Famous - Puddle Of Mudd

Title: Psycho
Album: Famous
Artist: Puddle Of Mudd
Composer(s): Anthony Battaglia, Wesley Scantlin

Lyric:
Maybe I'm the one, maybe I'm the one
Who is the schizophrenic psycho, yeah
Maybe I'm the one, maybe I'm the one
Who is the schizophrenic psycho

She lays down on the fresh lawn
She can make everything magical
But she tied one on big time
And it makes me wanna rewind

To back in the days when we were young
When everything was like a loaded gun
Ready to go off at any minute
And you know we're gonna win again

Yeah, you know we're gonna win again
Yeah, you know we're gonna win again

Maybe I'm the one, maybe I'm the one
Who is the schizophrenic psycho, yeah
Maybe I'm the one, maybe I'm the one
Who is the paranoid psycho

She lays down on the sidewalk
Never very analytical
She is something simply beautiful
Reappear when you feel magical

To back in the days when we were young
When everything was like a loaded gun
Ready to go off at any minute
Yeah, you know we're gonna win again

Maybe I'm the one, maybe I'm the one
Who is the schizophrenic psycho, yeah
Maybe I'm the one, maybe I'm the one
Who is the paranoid psycho

I'm the one, I'm the one
Who is the schizophrenic psycho
I'm the one, I'm the one
Who is the schizophrenic psycho
I'm the one, I'm the one
Who is the schizophrenic psycho

Back in the days when we were young
When everything was like a loaded gun
Ready to go off at any minute
And you know we're gonna win again

Maybe I'm the one, maybe I'm the one
Who is the schizophrenic psycho, yeah
Maybe I'm the one, maybe I'm the one
Who is the paranoid psycho

Maybe I'm the one, maybe I'm the one

Still Around - Lyrics - REBIRTH - Jennifer Lopez

Title: Still Around
Album: REBIRTH
Artist: Jennifer Lopez
Composer(s): Antwan Patton, Mark Cory Rooney, Archie Hall

{AdsenseCode:2D080010-7055-443A-8D12-2B79DDC71256}

Lyric:
Do you remember what you said to me the day I met you?
Like yesterday I still can hear your voice, you promised to be
Still in my life no matter what you had to do to be there
Well, it's been a while and here we are lookin' back on times
That we shared

I still imagine us being young and so in love
Never apart, you were my heart
Seems like it's always just been us

I remember we were in the park, holding hands and you said to me
I'm the only thing you need and I would make your life complete
If I said I'd be your girl, you would stay with me forever
Boy, you never let me down through it all you're still around
Still around yeah

I still believe in all the things you said to me in those days
You gave me love and kept your word with every promise you made
I sing your favorite song inside my head when you're not with me
Until you come back home and take me in your arms and hold me

I can imagine us being old and still in love
Never apart, you are my heart
Makes me smile, we're still in love

I remember we were in the park, holding hands and you said to me
I'm the only thing you need and I would make your life complete
If I said I'd be your girl, you would stay with me forever
Boy, you never let me down through it all you're still around

(Looking back through all the years)
Heh, you remember the first time I went to your house
And your father looked at me like I had three heads
(And I never will forget the day)
We were so in love

(Looking back through all the years)
You were so beautiful, so young
(And I never will forget the day you came into my life )
I can't believe you're still mine
(And what you said to me)
That's crazy, I love you

I remember we were in the park, holding hands and you said to me
(We were in the park holding hands)
I'm the only thing you need and I would make your life complete
(And I would your life complete)
If I said I'd be your girl, you would stay with me forever
(I'm still your girl)
Boy, you never let me down through it all you're still around
(I'll never let you down, my baby)

I remember we were in the park, holding hands and you said to me
I'm the only thing you need and I would make your life complete
If I said I'd be your girl you, would stay with me forever?
(Said I'd be your girl and)
Boy, you never let me down through it all you're still around
Still around yeah

Canadian Rose - Lyrics - Straight On Till Morning - Blues Traveler

Title: Canadian Rose
Album: Straight On Till Morning
Artist: Blues Traveler
Composer(s): John Popper

Lyric:
Autumn air it carries me there
Less than an hour to go
Six hundred miles an hour
And still it feels so slow

I'm trying to get back to Burlington
To a square in the center of town
To a spot on a wooden table
Where her feet didn't reach the ground

And when she kisses me it tasted like cinnamon
And her skin smells of cider and rose
And when she looked at me we'd both got quiet
And my heart beats so hard we were in so close
Once for such a beautiful while that still makes me smile

And she called me her ugly American
And I would call her my Canadian flower
And I don't think that we'll ever get there again
We had such power

And she would call me her ugly American
And I'll remember my Canadian rose
Especially when the fall comes to Burlington
We were in so close

I finally made it this town looks rearranged
I don't know these people anymore
But in the best ways not much else has changed
From the way it was before

At least they still have this certain table
Where I once carved a particular name
I run my fingers through the weathered carving
And I almost can feel the same

And my mouth it almost tastes just like cinnamon
As I ponder what my pilgrimage means
And I try to figure out where Vancouver is from here
And I listen to the leaves
If only for a beautiful while that still makes me smile

And she called me her ugly American
And I would call her my Canadian flower
And I don't think that we'll ever get there again
We had such power

And she would call me her ugly American
And I'll remember my Canadian rose
Especially when the fall comes to Burlington
We were in so close

Every single hope and dream I could ever conjure up
Passionately springs in me and all things are possible
Plausible and perfectly both of ours forever after and every day
At least it seemed that way
Once for such a beautiful while that still makes me smile

And she called me her ugly American
And I would call her my Canadian flower
And I don't think that we'll ever get there again
We had such power

And she would call me her ugly American
And I'll remember my Canadian rose
Especially when the fall comes to Burlington
We were in so close

Uneasy Rider - Lyrics - Charlie Daniels Band

Title: Uneasy Rider
Artist: Charlie Daniels Band
Composer(s): Charlie Daniels

Lyric:
Me and my buddy got us a wild hair
And figured we wanted to go somewhere
So we loaded up in my ragtop Chevrolet
We had a little bit of money and a whole lot of show
And with Hank Junior blaring on the radio
We got a tank full of gas and we was on our way

We figured we'd go down to New Orleans
We were barrelling' down old 17
When a man with a blinking red light was on our tail
He said, "You were doin' 60 in a 45
But I'm gonna let you go this time
But if I catch you again, I'm gonna slap you in the county jail"

We said, "Thank you sir, you sure been nice
And you ain't gonna have to tell us twice"
And we were Southbound and down with the wind blowing in our faces
We kept on rolling and pretty soon
The radio was cooking out a haggard tune
And we were pulling into Houston and checking out all the places

I was feeling dry and I said, "I think
We ought to stop and get ourselves a drink"
Old Jim said, "Yeah 'cause we got time to kill"
We kept on rolling and I seen this spot
We pulled into the parking lot
Of this place called, 'The Cloud Nine Bar and Grill'

We walked through the door and the place was jammed
The lights were low, they had a punk rock band
And some orange haired feller singing about suicide
I said, "Jim, this ain't our kind of place
He said, "Well, let's just have one round anyway"
So against my better judgment we walked on inside

Went up to the bar and we sat down
This feller walked up and said, "I'll buy this round"
And he sat down on the barstool next to Jim
He looked like a girl but he talked like a guy
He had lipstick on and mascara in his eyes
And everybody in that place looked just about like him

I said, "Jim, this ain't our kind of bar
Let's just go on out and get back in the car
'Cause there's gonna be trouble, ain't no sense in taking a chance"
We was getting up, getting ready to leave
When somebody grabbed old Jim by the sleeve
And this good looking girl, she was asking my buddy to dance

I said, "Jim, don't do it, there's something missing
There's fellers dancing and fellers kissing
There's a feller in high heeled shoes wearing panty hose"
He said, "Partner, I just can't turn this down
You just go over there and have one more round
I'll dance with the lady and we'll get on down the road"

So he walked away and left me alone
But this funny looking feller kept coming on
And he was making me mad with some of the things he said
Then he put his hand on my knee
I said, "If you don't get your paw off me
I'm gonna locate your nose around the other side of your head"

He said, "I love it when you get that fire in your eye
I said, "Well, partner try this on for size"
And I unloaded on him and he went out like a light
Everybody in that place must have been his friend
They all headed for me, I said, "This is the end"
But where I come from, we don't give up without a fight

They were screaming and yelling and scratching and clawing
I was punching and hitting and kicking and pawing
I was holding my own, 'cause I've been in a scrap or two
Old Jim come running up out of the blue
And that gal he was with, come running up too
And proceeded to beat on me with a high heel shoe

I grabbed her by the hair it came off in my hand
And that beautiful girl was just a beautiful man
And old Jim just got sick right there on the floor
He dropped that dude like a shot from a gun
Smeared his lipstick, made his makeup run
And me and old Jim started fighting our way to the door

Man, we lit out of there in that Chevrolet
I put in on the floor and it stayed that way
We was going' down the highway doing about a hundred and ten
We were headed for home and we was getting nearer
Then a red light came on the rear view mirror
And that same blame cop was pulling us over again

Now I'm sitting' here in this county jail
I had to call my Daddy to go our bail
But I learned me a lesson that I never will forget again
I've done give up drinking', I've give up bars
And running around the country in souped up cars
I'm going back where the women are women and the men are men

Dream - Lyrics - Glenn Lewis

Title: Dream
Artist: Glenn Lewis
Composer(s): Glenn Ricketts, Herschel Boone

Lyric:
Look at you now, you really haven't changed
Still as beautiful as first day we met
But something's different, doesn't seem so long ago
Amazing how the years can go

When we wanted different things
You wanted a family, I was chasing my dream
I didn't know what I had back then
How could I go off through the growing pains of being a man?

I really didn't understand
I took you for granted, now it's out of my hands
Now I wish I had it to do all over again

'Cause all I do is dream about the times we had together
We used to think that they would last forever
But who've thought it be my fault we didn't make it
And when I'm missing you so much that I can't take it
I just close my eyes, I just close my eyes and dream

Don't know what I had thought I really figured out
Looking back had no clue what it was all about
I tried to explain what I was feeling but when I couldn't get through
I would just turn around and get mad at you

Frustrated not knowing the reasons for the things I do
Couldn't see just why you and I would fall apart
Humble by drift and heart
But now I can clearly see how things ended up because of me
If this is how it's supposed to be then I'll just

Dream about the times we had together
We used to think that they would last forever
But who've thought it be my fault we didn't make it
And when I'm missing you so much that I can't take it
I just close my eyes, I just close my eyes and dream

Looking back on yesterday how we were so deeply in love
Wishing it could be that way again
But even if it can't be, and we we're made just friends
All I have to do is dream

Dream about the times we had together
We used to think that they would last forever
But who've thought it be my fault, we didn't make it
And when I'm missing you so much that I can't take it
I just close my eyes, I just close my eyes and dream

Dream about the times we had together
We used to think that they would last forever
But who've thought it be my fault, we didn't make it

Seven Days - Lyrics - Craig David

Title: Seven Days
Artist: Craig David
Composer(s): Darren John Hill, Mark Hill, Craig David

Lyric:
You know what?
Got something to say
Yeah, Craig David
7 Days, check it out, yeah

On my way to see my friends
Who lived a couple blocks away from me
As I walked through the subway
Must have been about quarter past three

In front of me stood a beautiful honey
With a beautiful body, she asked me for the time
I said it'd cost her a name, a six digit number
And a date with me tomorrow at nine

Did she decline? No
Didn't she mind? I don't think so
Oh, was it for real? Damn sure
Oh, what was the deal? A pretty girl aged twenty-four

So was she keen? She couldn't wait
Cinnamon queen? Let me update
Oh, what did she say?

She said she'd love to rendezvous
She asked me what we were gonna do
Said we'd start with a bottle of Moet for two

Monday
Took her for a drink on Tuesday
We were making love by Wednesday
And on Thursday and Friday and Saturday
We chilled on Sunday

I met this girl on Monday
Took her for a drink on Tuesday
We were making love by Wednesday
And on Thursday and Friday and Saturday
We chilled on Sunday

Nine was the time
'Cos I'll be getting mine
And she was looking fine
Smooth talker she told me

She'd love to unfold me all night long
Ooh, I loved the way she kicked it
From the front to back she flipped it
Back she flipped it, the way she kicked it

And I, oh, I yeah
Hope that she'd care
'Cos I'm a man who'll always be there

Ooh, yeah
I'm not a man to play around baby
Ooh, yeah
'Cos a one night stand isn't really fair

From the first impression, girl
You don't seem to be like that
'Cos there's no need to chat
For there'll be plenty of time for that

From the subway to my home
Endless ringing of my phone
When you're feeling all alone
All you gotta do is just call me, call me

Monday
Took her for a drink on Tuesday
We were making love by Wednesday
And on Thursday and Friday and Saturday
We chilled on Sunday

I met this girl on Monday
Took her for a drink on Tuesday
We were making love by Wednesday
And on Thursday and Friday and Saturday
We chilled on Sunday

Break it down, break it down
Since I met this special lady, ooh, girl
I can't get her off my mind
She's one of a kind

And I ain't about to deny it
It's a special kind of thing
With you, ohh

Monday
Took her for a drink on Tuesday
We were making love by Wednesday
And on Thursday and Friday and Saturday
We chilled on Sunday

I met this girl on Monday

We were making love by Wednesday

7 Days - Lyrics - Born To Do It - Craig David

Title: 7 Days
Album: Born To Do It
Artist: Craig David
Composer(s): Darren John Hill, Mark Hill, Craig David

Lyric:
On my way to see my friends
Who lived a couple of blocks away from me
As I walked through the subway
It must have been about quarter past three

In front of me
Stood a beautiful honey with a beautiful body
She asked me for the time, I said it'd cost her her name
A six digit number and a date with me tomorrow at nine

"Did she decline?"
"No"
"Didn't she mind?"
"I don't think so"

"Was it for real?"
"Damn sure"
"What was the deal?"
"A pretty girl aged twenty-four"

"So was she keen?"
"She couldn't wait"
"Cinnamon Queen?"
"Let me update"

"What did she say?"
She said, "She'd love to rendezvous"
She asked me, "What we were gonna do?"
Said we'd start with a bottle of Moet for two

Monday
Took her for a drink on Tuesday
We were making love by Wednesday
And on Thursday and Friday and Saturday, we chilled on Sunday

If Beds Could Talk - Lyrics - Chris De Burgh

Title: If Beds Could Talk
Artist: Chris De Burgh
Composer(s): Chris De Burgh

Lyric:
If beds could talk, mine would be singing
Singing about the time when you and I were lovers
All night long, we could not stop

They were amazing times, they were the crazy times
They were the best that I have known
Another place to fly, another taste to try
We were awake in a beautiful dream

If beds could talk, mine would be saying
Come back and hold me in your arms again
If beds could talk, mine would be calling
Come back and let me love you once again

If walls could hear, mine would remember
Every word we said when you and I were lovers
All night long, we could not stop
Remember every kiss and every touch of lips

And every sensual delight
They were hypnotic times, they were erotic times
They were a thousand Arabian nights

If beds could talk, mine would be saying
Come back and hold me in your arms again
If beds could talk, mine would be calling
Come back and let me love you once again

If beds could talk, if walls could hear, if windows see, imagine
The moments and the memories, they all come flooding back
If tables turn, if wheels caress, if mirrors see the passion
You'd be the best of them all

If beds could talk, mine would be saying
Come back and hold me in your arms again
If beds could talk, mine would remember
So come back and let me love you once again

If beds could talk, mine would be singing
If beds could talk, mine would remember
If beds could talk, mine would be calling
If beds could talk, mine would be waiting

If beds could talk, mine would be singing
If beds could talk, if beds could talk, if beds could talk

Couldn'T We - Lyrics - One Wish - Deborah Cox

Title: Couldn'T We
Album: One Wish
Artist: Deborah Cox
Composer(s): Diane Eve Warren

Lyric:
There were words between us, words that hurt inside
Still that's just no reason to say the word goodbye

We can't let go something beautiful, we can't just let it die
Can't you and I just try to find one reason
To just give us one more try?

Couldn't love heal the pain?
Couldn't time take the tears away?
Couldn't you, you and me try again, baby?
Couldn't we, we, couldn't you
Couldn't we, couldn't we, couldn't we?

Start the story over, turn the page tonight
Nothing wrong between us that love could not make right

Can't we forgive and let our hearts forget? Let the love back inside
Can't you and I just get back to those feelings
And feel them just one more time?

Couldn't love heal the pain?
Couldn't time take the tears away?
Couldn't you, you and me try again, baby?
Couldn't we, we, couldn't you, couldn't we
Couldn't we, couldn't we, couldn't we?

Turn back the hands of time to a time when love was right
To those nights when the touch was sweet
Can't we find our way back before we lose everything?

Couldn't love heal the pain, baby?
Couldn't time take the tears away?
Couldn't you, you and me try again, again?

Couldn't we stay together?
Couldn't we make it better?
Couldn't we turn the page and start the story over?

Couldn't we bring the love back?
Couldn't we have one more chance?
Couldn't we hold each other just a little closer?

Try again couldn't we
Couldn't we, couldn't we, baby?

Couldn't we stay together?
Couldn't we make it better?
Couldn't we turn the page and start the story over?

Couldn't we bring the love back?
Couldn't we have one more chance?
Couldn't we hold each other just a little closer?

Life Is Beautiful - Lyrics - Vega 4

Title: Life Is Beautiful
Artist: Vega 4
Composer(s): Bruce Graeme Gainsford, Garret Lee, John Mcdaid, Bryan Mclellan, Simon Anthony Walker

Lyric:
Life is beautiful
We love until we die

When you run into my arms
We steal a perfect moment
Let the monsters see you smile
Let them see you smiling

Do I hold you too tightly?
When will the hurt kick in?

Life is beautiful
But it's complicated, we barely make it
We don't need to understand
There are miracles, miracles

Yeah, life is beautiful
Our hearts, they beat and break

When you run away from harm
Will you run back into my arms
Like you did when you were young?
Will you come back to me?

I will hold you tightly
When the hurting kicks in

Life is beautiful
But it's complicated, we barely make it
We don't need to understand
There are miracles, miracles

Stand where you are
We let all these moments pass us by

It's amazing where I'm standing
There's a lot that we can give
It's just ours just for a moment
There's a lot that we can give

It's amazing where I'm standing
There's a lot that we can give
It's just ours just for a moment
There's a lot that we can give

Mancunian Way - Lyrics - Beautiful World - Take That

Title: Mancunian Way
Album: Beautiful World
Artist: Take That
Composer(s): Howard Donald, Mark Anthony Owen, Eg White, Jason Orange, Gary Barlow

Lyric:
We used to walk Mancunian Way
We used to swagger, we used to sway
Up until the lights took us away
Do you know what you meant to me?

We used to think we were the bomb
Then someone left a real one
We stayed indoors as the rain come
Back then it made no sense to me

I'm missing your face, your beautiful face
It's funny that I recall
They gave us the keys to the city
But they don't fit anything
But I'm coming anyway

I hear you calling
I came back running
Forgot that feeling
Been so long coming

They tried to stop her
She just got stronger
I'm driving home again
Back down Mancunian Way

I just forgot how it is to feel
To dance and move and keep it real
Been lying down for ten long years
But I was there and it feels like yesterday

I'm missing your face, your beautiful face
It's funny that I recall
You came when I was pretty
But that don't work no more
But I'm coming anyway

I hear you calling
I came back running
Forgot that feeling
Been so long coming

They tried to stop her
She just got stronger
I'm driving home again
Back down Mancunian Way

Now I stand here in front of you
I know now what I'm gonna do
My shoulders low but my head is high
I'm gonna bring this town alive

Through this acidic rain
I'm gonna come back to life again

I hear you calling
I came back running
Forgot that feeling
Been so long coming

They tried to stop her
She just got stronger
I'm driving home again
Back down Mancunian way

I hear you calling
I came back running
Forgot that feeling
Been so long coming

They tried to stop her
She just got stronger
I'm driving home again
Back down Mancunian Way

I hear you calling
I came back running
Forgot that feeling
Been so long coming

They tried to stop her
She just got stronger
I'm driving home again
Back down Mancunian Way

Wal-Mart Parking Lot - Lyrics - Anywhere But Here - Chris Cagle

Title: Wal-Mart Parking Lot
Album: Anywhere But Here
Artist: Chris Cagle
Composer(s): Brett James

Lyric:
I remember the summer I turned 16
And that old jalopy daddy gave to me
It had holes in the floor and just a 305
But I didn?t care 'cause I could finally drive

There wasn?t much to do in my hometown
So every weekend night we would all go down

Yeah there were freaks and hippies in my high school
Football players all trying to be cool
And everybody scramblin? to hide their beer
When the cops drove by till the coast was clear

Kids falling in and out of love
On the hoods of Chevys, in the beds of trucks
We were stumbling our way through life till our senior year
But man we sure did learn a lot in that Wal-Mart parking lot

She had long blonde hair and sea green eyes
The most beautiful thing I?d ever seen in my life
But I was young and dumb and didn?t have a line
And all I could say was "Can I call you sometime?"

She just said no and walked away
And that was the first time I felt my heart break

And there were freaks and hippies in my high school
Football players trying to be cool
And everybody scramblin? to hide their beer
When the cops drove by till the coast was clear

Kids falling in and out of love
On the hoods of Chevys, in the beds of trucks
We were stumbling our way through life till our senior year
But man we sure did learn a lot in that Wal-Mart parking lot

Yeah we all did a lot of livin?
It was small town teenage heaven

And there were freaks and hippies in my high school
We were all just trying to be cool
And everybody scramblin? to hide their beer
When the cops drove by till the coast was clear

Kids falling in and out of love
On the hoods of Chevys, in the beds of trucks
We were stumbling our way through life till our senior year
But man we sure did learn a lot in that Wal-Mart parking lot
In that Wal-Mart parking lot

I had my first kiss, my first love
Got my ass kicked but I got back up
Lost my way, found it again
Had one long buzz and a dozen best friends
In that Wal-Mart parking lot
In that Wal-Mart parking lot

Am Radio - Lyrics - Songs From An American Movie-Vol. 1: Learning How To Smile - Everclear

Title: Am Radio
Album: Songs From An American Movie-Vol. 1: Learning How To Smile
Artist: Everclear
Composer(s): Carrol Washington, Greg Eklund, Craig Montoya, Ralph Williams, Joseph Broussard, Art Alexakis

Lyric:
{K exchange Los Angeles
Portions of the day's programming are reproduced by means
Of electrical transcriptions or tape recordings}

The V.C.R. and the D.V.D.
There wasn't none of that crap back in 1970
We didn't know about a world wide web
It was a whole different game being played back when I was a kid

You wanna get down in a cool way?
Picture yourself on a beautiful day
Big bell bottoms and groovy long hair
Just a walking in style with a portable C D player

No, no, you would listen to the music on the AM radio
Yeah, you could hear the music on the AM radio

Flashback to '72 another summer in the neighborhood
Hanging out with nothing to do
Sometimes we'd go driving around in my sister's Pinto
Cruisin' with the windows rolled down

We'd listen to the radio station
We were too damn poor to buy the 8 track tapes
There wasn't any good time to want to be inside
My mom would want to watch that TV all god damn night

I'd be in bed with the radio on
I would listen to it all night long
Just to hear my favorite song

You'd have to wait but you could hear it on the AM radio
Yeah, you could hear the music on the AM radio

I can still hear mama say
"Boy turn that radio down!"
Oh mom that show again
I don't wanna watch that show
Can we watch good times and cheeku on the net
Or something cool, turn it off

Things changed back in '75
We were all growing up on the in and the outside
We got in trouble with the police man
We got busted getting high in the back of my friend's van

I remember 1977, I started going to concerts
And I saw the Led Zeppelin
I got a guitar on a Christmas day I dreamed that Jimmy Page
Would come to Santa Monica and teach me to play

There isn't any other place that I need to go
There isn't anything that I need to know
I did not learn from the radio

Yeah, when things get stupid and I just don't know
Where to find my happy
I listen to the music from the AM radio

You could hear the music on the AM radio
You could hear the music on the AM radio

I like pop and I like soul
I like rock but I never liked disco on the AM radio
I like pop and I like soul
I like rock but I never liked disco on the AM radio

We like pop, we like soul, we like to rock
But we never liked disco
We like pop, we like soul, we like to rock
But we never liked disco
We like pop, we like soul, we like to rock
But we never liked disco

No we never liked disco
No we never liked disco
No we never liked disco

When You Were Young - Lyrics - Sam's Town - The Killers

Title: When You Were Young
Album: Sam's Town
Artist: The Killers
Composer(s): Brandon Flowers, Dave Brent Keuning, Mark August Stoermer, Ronnie Jr. Vannucci

Lyric:
You sit there in your heartache
Waiting on some beautiful boy to
To save you from your old ways
You play forgiveness
Watch him now, here he come

He doesn?t look a thing like Jesus
But he talks like a gentleman
Like you imagined when you were young

Can we climb this mountain? I don?t know
Higher now than ever before
I know we can make it if we take it slow
That's takin' easy, easy now, watch it go

We?re burning down the highway skyline
On the back of a hurricane that started turning
When you were young
When you were young

And sometimes you close your eyes
And see the place where you used to live
When you were young

They say the Devil?s water it ain?t so sweet
You don?t have to drink right now
But you can dip your feet
Every once in a little while

You sit there in your heartache
Waiting on some beautiful boy to
To save you from your old ways
You play forgiveness
Watch him now, here he come

He doesn?t look a thing like Jesus
But he talks like a gentleman
Like you imagined when you were young
(Talks like a gentleman)
(Like you imagined when)
When you were young

I said he doesn?t look a thing like Jesus
He doesn?t look a thing like Jesus
But more than you?ll ever know
