Bring On The Change - Lyrics - Midnight Oil

Title: Bring On The Change
Artist: Midnight Oil
Composer(s): Robert George Hirst, Bones Hillman, James Paul Moginie, Martin Magnus Rotsey, Peter Roberts Garrett

{AdsenseCode:2D080010-7055-443A-8D12-2B79DDC71256}

Lyric:
Here comes the angel of death
You may not remember her yet
Concrete all over her face
Child bride of the human race

Until you see life in the forest
Until you hear you've been abolished
Forget everything that you think
You've been promised, bring on the change

Sunscreen all over your face
Chatswood wasn't built in a day
Mysteries are in this game, I say
Shine on, take me away

Heads in the bank, hearts in the closet
Soul's out to lunch, will soon be upon us
We believe everything that we see, let's be honest
And bring on the change

Lift up your eyes, look to the heavens
Could be a sign or a seven-eleven
Some day we'll see everything they've been selling

Bring on the change, c'mon, c'mon
Bring on the change, I say
You gotta bring on the change

A change, a change
I say, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon
C'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon, c'mon, change

Title: Delivering The Goods
Album: Hell Bent For Leather
Artist: Judas Priest
Composer(s): Robert Halford, Glenn Tipton, Kenneth Downing

{AdsenseCode:2D080010-7055-443A-8D12-2B79DDC71256}

Lyric:
Feeling like we're, ready to kick tonight
No hesitating, my bodies aching
Looking for some action, satisfaction all right
Charging, vein faced, as active as one-hundred solid proof
Mega town, Leviathan, we're ready to hit the roof

You better watch out and hold on tight
We're heading your way like dynamite

Delivering the goods
Delivering the goods

Shake down, rock 'em boys, crack that whip strap mean
Pulse rave, air waves, battle lies in every place we've been
Stealing your hearts all across the land
Hot blood doing good, we're going to load you with our brand

You better watch out and hold on tight
We're heading your way like dynamite

Delivering the goods
Delivering the goods

Have your way stealing your hearts well we don't pull no punches
We aim where the crunch is the bound to do most damage to your brain
If you're looking for it mellow you're nothing more than yellow
Gonna do it again and again

We'll beat you to submission
So you might as well surrender
You do gotta learn your lesson
'Cause there ain't nobody here to defend your heart

Faster, higher till it seems that we're gonna break
Oh shootin' further, giving more than you're ever gonna take
Weaving with your heads crushed out on the floor
Begging for mercy be careful or we'll do it some more

You better watch out and hold on tight
We're heading your way like dynamite

Delivering the goods
Delivering the goods

Everything Is Broken - Lyrics - Trouble Is... - Kenny Wayne Shepherd

Title: Everything Is Broken
Album: Trouble Is...
Artist: Kenny Wayne Shepherd
Composer(s): Bob Dylan

{AdsenseCode:2D080010-7055-443A-8D12-2B79DDC71256}

Lyric:
Broken lines, broken strings
Broken threads, broken springs
Broken idols, broken heads
People sleeping in broken beds
Ain't no use jiving, ain't no use joking
Yeah, everything is broken

Broken bottles, broken legs
Broken switches, broken gates
Broken dishes, broken parts
The streets are filled with broken hearts
Broken words never meant to be spoken
Oh, everything is broken

It seems like every time I stop and turn around
Something else has just hit the ground

Broken colors, broken saws
Broken buckles, broken laws
Broken bodies, broken bones
Broken voices on broken phones
Take a deep breath, feel like you're choking
Hey yeah, everything is broken

Yeah, every time I you leave and go off some place
Things fall to pieces in my face

Broken hands on broken ploughs
Broken treaties and broken vows
Broken pipes, broken tools
People bending broken rules

Hound dog howling, bull frog croaking
Hey hey everything is broken, everything is broken
Everything is broken, everything is broken
Oh yeah, everything is broken

Kick, Push Ii - Lyrics - Food & Liquor - Lupe Fiasco

Title: Kick, Push Ii
Album: Food & Liquor
Artist: Lupe Fiasco
Composer(s): Brandon Howard, Wasalu Jaco

{AdsenseCode:2D080010-7055-443A-8D12-2B79DDC71256}

Lyric:
Look at what we did
Came a long way from dirty ghetto kids
Yeah, look at what we did
We came a long way from dirty ghetto kids
Yeah, you know what it is, c'mon

Well, the cops didn't fine 'em for grindin', no
They kinda blew the vibe, figured it was time to go
Plus he had to be at home a long time ago
And he had made like ten dollars off the song he wrote

It read, 'A lil' hungry and need a lil' money
It's for my lil' sister and her lil' tummy'
Wasn't lyin' though, he didn't go buy hydro
Went to the restaurant and bought two guiros

'Cause he knew they wasn't cookin' where he live
The cooca cooca coots now took him to the crib
A lil' hurt from the rail, he took into the ribs
Right pass the pushers who couldn't under dig

"What's the use of pushin'? You ain't pushin' none of this
If I kick it with y'all, I'm just pushin' for a bid"
But what was on his mind and push him to the lid
Their best customer wasn't cookin' for her kids

Gets up to pump, so he kick, push
Over his shoulders, he swore he'd never look
'Cause wasn't nothin' back there but the blackness
Life wasn't too attractive

Yeah, and so he kick, push
Over his shoulders, he swore he'd never look
'Cause wasn't nothin' back there but the blackness
Life wasn't too attractive

Yeah, you see his mom was a crack head
And his father couldn't be contacted
He knew what bein' different was, combated
Amongst the other things on his young, black head

And see his girl was a white girl
But just 'cause she was white
See, her life wasn't light world
She too had the drama thick
Had a daddy and a mama but her daddy used to mama hit

Daddy caught somethin' chasin' fatties, made her mama sick
Couldn't afford the medicine, pimped her to the pharmacist
And suicidal feelings would rise
Switch over the transition 'til her conquer it

Pays for mama's pills with a sponsorship
Her cell phone bill and a Honda kit
And that's why she skates with he
Someone to feel her pain and a place to be

That's why, that's why, that's why she kick, push
Over her shoulders, she swore she'd never look
'Cause wasn't nothin' back there but the blackness
Life wasn't too attractive

Yeah, that's why she kick, push
Over her shoulders, she swore she'd never look
'Cause wasn't nothin' back there but the blackness
Life wasn't too attractive

Yeah, a travelin' band of misfits and outcasts
Nod their heads from Misfits to Outkast
A lot of scars, they did this without pads
A lot of hearts who did this without dads

One's father was filthy rich
Two was middle class and one was homeless
And then the paralyzed girl in the wheelchair
Who just liked to watch and that was the whole clique

I think about 'em every time I see this old flick
L's taken in the park, in front of this old bench
They wrote on the back, "We thankful, 'Push, Kick'
Hope you make a video, the beat is so sick"

Well, I did, I hope you seen it
It's on MTV, 'Soundtracks of Genius'
Love from Tony Hawk, beat from the Ice Creamaz
Before we put it out, had to pay the Philippines

Just to show him how you kick, push
Over ya shoulders you swore you'd never look
'Cause wasn't nothin' back there but the blackness
Life wasn't too attractive

Yeah, that's why you kick, push
Over ya shoulders, you swore you'd never look
'Cause wasn't nothin' back there but the blackness
Life wasn't too attractive, yeah

King Of Hearts - Lyrics - Hot In The Shade - Kiss

Title: King Of Hearts
Album: Hot In The Shade
Artist: Kiss
Composer(s): Vincent Jr Poncia, Paul Stanley

{AdsenseCode:2D080010-7055-443A-8D12-2B79DDC71256}

Lyric:
Do it

She was just 19 but in her eyes
She was old enough to know
We were caught between two city streets
Like a bad dream

We could barely survive in the world outside
Where the writing's on the wall
Still she lets me know, we just can't let go
And she takes my heart away

When she tells me, I want it
I go crazy, I need it
When she touches, I feel it
Right there in her eyes

I'm the King of Hearts
Livin' out a fantasy
The King of Hearts
When she's layin' next to me

Shinin' like a jewel tonight
Love is gonna rule tonight
Yeah, I'm gonna be the only one
The King of Hearts

Like a neon light, the shadows flash
Across my empty room
We could leave tonight
And save ourselves from a bad scene

When we walk on by with our heads up high
All the faces turn our way
Yeah, it's in their eyes, they realize
We can make our getaway

When she tells me, I want it
I go crazy, I need it
When she touches, I feel it
When she looks at me

I'm the King of Hearts
Livin' out a fantasy
I'm the King of Hearts
When she's layin' next to me

Shinin' like a jewel tonight
Love is gonna rule tonight
Yeah, I'm gonna be the only one
The King of Hearts

When she tells me, I want it
I go crazy, I need it
When she touches, I feel it
Right there in her eyes

I'm the King of Hearts

I'm the King of Hearts
When she's layin' next to me
The King of Hearts
Livin' out a fantasy

The King of Hearts
I'm in a fantasy
I'm the King of Hearts
She's lyin' next to me
I'm the King of Hearts

Homie Don'T Play That - Lyrics - Geto Boys

Title: Homie Don'T Play That
Artist: Geto Boys
Composer(s): George Jr Clinton, David Spradley, Willie Dennis, Philippe Wynn, Barbarella Bishop, Ronald Ford, Garry Shider, Linda Shider

Lyric:
Don't say I didn't warn ya
About playin' them hoe games
Like callin' me out on my name
Some a y'all are still gonna try to show off
And get busted in ya goddamn mouth

I won't understand how a man can call a man
A bitch or a hoe and be playin' in my book, that's a no-no
Your mouth don't write a check that your ass can't cash, bro
Pop you on the [unverified] for what
Niggas done got when they played too much

Willie D'll tap a bitch and that's it
Anything else is punk shit
I'll give you some a this, and some a this
They're just special effects but you can bet
I got something to make them hoes ease up off me black
'Cause homie don't play that

A lot of suckers got they ass kicked
'Cause hard heads and rankin' don't mix
But if you gonna cap on each other
You gotta know when it's gettin' personal sucker

Instead of eatin' up your homeboys grill
See, that's how a nigga gettin' killed
Fools like to joke when your serious
So, to kill the bullshit I stopped fuckin' wit her, period

Don't snatch my hat off my head like we're homies
And greet me wit a [unverified] cause you don't know me
Play with your mother or your father
You ain't got no pussy, I don't even wanna be bothered

And you bet' not act like you wanna swang
'Cause I'm pretty good with them thangs
So, call my bluff, do what you like and
I'ma make you read these Nikes, wrastlin' ain't masculine

You say you wanna go to war B
Instead of tryin' to test me
Horse playin' like an adolescent
Will get your ass wrapped up like a present

Your compliments ain't nutthin' but a racket
Your whole conversation is plastic
You say you like my new jacket
Jealous motherfucka even sound sarcastic

It's in your voice when we shootin' the shit
Maytag ass nigga ain't nuttin' but a bitch
Ain't got no back 'cause you're always frontin' black
Man, homie don't play that

I don't play that
Let's take it all the way back

Niggas say, I'm crazy
When I say keep your comments about my lady
They say, "You're lucky, I wish I had a girl like that"
I never smile 'cause I know where they hearts is at
All in front of my girl sayin', how pretty she looks

Game recognized, I wrote the book
"Got a good thing, hold tight, don't lose her brother"
You may as well straight up, say, you wanna fuck her
Still waters run deep, man

And ain't nothing worse than one who fronts like a friend
Call your crib when they know you ain't home
Tryin' to rap to your girl on the telephone
Snake in the grass, I see him comin' from a mile away I start gunnin'

And every time one drops
You can see a card wit they face on it in the mailbox
See, we ain't that cool, where you can play wit my girl
And try to get a free feel fool or conversate wit us alone

Then I have to step in and stop ya from goin' on and on
With that idle chatter
You say your just bein' friendly, ain't that a bitch?
You could be my brother, my father but the fact
Is homie don't play that

I don't play that
Man, homie don't play that

Jonas And Ezekial - Lyrics - Rites Of Passage - Indigo Girls

Title: Jonas And Ezekial
Album: Rites Of Passage
Artist: Indigo Girls
Composer(s): Amy Elizabeth Ray

Lyric:
{Alright
Dancin'}

I left my anger in a river runnin' highway five
New Hampshire, Vermont, bordered by
College farms, hubcaps and fallin' rocks
Voices in the woods and the mountaintops

I used to search for reservations and native lands
Before I realized everywhere I stand
There have been tribal feet runnin' wild as fire
Past life sister of my desire

Jonas and Ezekial hear me now, said
"Steady now and don't come out
I'm not ready for the dead to show its face
Whose turn is it anyway?
Anyway"

Now when I was young my people taught me well
Give back what you take or you'll go to hell
It's not the Devil's land, you know it's not that kind
Every devil I meet becomes a friend of mine
Every devil I meet is an angel in disguise

Jonas and Ezekial hear me now
"Steady now and don't come out
I'm not ready for the dead to show its face
Whose angel are you anyway?"

Ha ha huh huh
Ha ha huh huh
Haa haa woo
Haa woo

White, chain, rope, fear
(Hush my baby)
Be still my dear
(Be still my dear)

A bullet in the head, now he's dead
A friend of a friend, someone said
He was an activist with a very short life
I think there's a lesson here he died without a fight

In the war over land where the world began
Prophecies say it's where the world will end
There's a tremor growin' in our own backyard
Fear in our heads and fear in our hearts
Prophets in the graveyard
(Prophets in the graveyard)

Jonas and Ezekial hear me now
"Steady now and don't come out
I'm not ready for the dead to show its face
Whose turn is it anyway?"

I said, "Jonas and Ezekial hear me now
(Jonas, Ezekial)
Steady now I feel your ghost about
(Steady now)
I'm not ready for the dead to show its face
(I'm not ready for the dead to show its face)
Whose angel are you anyway?"

I said, "There's prophets in the graveyard
(Now I walk in beauty)
Prophets in the graveyard
(Beauty is before me)
Prophets in the graveyard
(Beauty is behind me)
(Above and below me)"

{Thanks
Thanks
We're gonna do one more song for ya
Just keep dancin'}

7 Sign (Bizzy) - Lyrics - Bone Thugs N Harmony

Title: 7 Sign (Bizzy)
Artist: Bone Thugs N Harmony
Composer(s): Tim Middleton, Majesty Byron Mccane

Lyric:
Yeah, this for all you non-believers
Especially out in the C-O
Man, fuck y'all niggas
Woo, yeah, I'm tellin' ya when I die
You can see what's deep in my eye, my eye
You can see what's deep in my eye, my eye 7 Sign

I put who got you, too, who shot you
Who got you, glock you and stop you
(Stop you, stop you)
Look who got you, too, who shot you
Who got you, pop you and stop you
(Stop you, stop you)

Nigga, this Mo Thug and we can get fucked-up
Even if I'm under surveillance, I watch out
Wanna win, and fuck 'em up daily, throwin' up 7
What am I yellin'? Murderer
Nigga, once you come you must pay like crazy if you
(Muthafucka, don't play me)

Play me nigga, not today, I see you but you can't see me
I know with all of government and
Yes, this will get crazy and blow
(Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb)

Got your mind blown, vocal tones keep it sewn
Blastin' out your stereos or your headphones
The roots exploited clones, therefore
It's my job to describe the loudness, the habitat of rap survival kit
Artistic skin abrasion, so when 'em fadin' my worldly reflections
It's magnified to new levels of elevation

Seven sign, seven, seven sign
Seven, seventh sign seal
Yeah, now y'all know, yeah
Yeah, I'm tellin' ya when I die
you can see what's deep in my eye
(My eyes, my eyes)

I put who got you, too, who shot you
Who got you, glock you and stop you
(Stop you, stop you)
Look who got you, too, who shot you
Who got you, pop you and stop you
(Stop you, stop you)

The Rip here to run in the street
And flippin' on police, yeah they know me
I'm not lonely, only, show me when the smoke clears
And at least I had my homie and a nigga, K, homie

All bitches, look into it as you want the real killa?
Well, pull out your pistol, bitch, and shoot it, shoot it
And you knew it, do it, when, when you looked in my eyes
I'm ready to die and I hope my mama really loves me

'Cause daddy's bye-bye, inner pride with the Ripsta
Let 'em hit ya with the scripture
Picture me locked out and smoked out with a half of fifth of

Three sixty-five out of all the round trees
They'll be Japanese, Majesty's corruptin' record companies
Nigga, jump for cheese, catch sub-zero freeze
And crack once the atmosphere brings the temperature back

Sacks only in dress pants
Have you ever danced with the devil in pale moonlight?
I have, Hollywood niggas make me laugh
Sell a dream to 'em

Cash, no royality, grab they royal keys and dash
My overhead projects how ends meet to foul or ejected
Lyrics was selected beyond my control, last door on the totem pole
Pockets swoll from tape residue, last interview and went in daytime

It's made a promise to let down smooth criminals gently in my business
Grab your earlobe and billion, this is big business, buy tapes
Don't lend, niggas mad while I scrap change for phillies, why grill me?
Got bigger balls to chase waterfalls with Chili

Explore on four wheels or foot, I bring it to that ass over the hook
So when you slip, gots it, I ride up on it
I had to maintain my mental frame, and now I'm Boneless
Word sound 'til I'm foamin'

Cybergenics wanted my genes for clonin'
Disownin' heads like Romans fight rebel Trojans
More than civil suits make my longevity boost, articles
And promotions make me more potent

Deadly to the mind, 'causin' somethin' to be blind
Re-define lines entertwined with all mankind
Would that rain outshine divine Majesty, shame
The boogie down punks is where the hearts still remain

I'm a let a nigga know
You know what I'm sayin', just right off the bat
I gives a fuck about no nigga
Don't be no corvie ass nigga
I'm tryin' to tell niggas that off the rip
Off the rippa, baby
(I must me losin' my mind)

Where's the mob? Find your specialty, let's give this nigga a job
Is you ready for jail? Yes and no, but somebody's gonna try to rob
We can spar, but you gon' drop, drop
I'm a bomb, ready for war, will I p-pop, pop

Better look out for miles, been doomed since I womb
Will he put me in my tomb?
I've been thuggin' so assume when I enter your room, boom
Stomped through Compton

And cities y'all ain't never heard of and listen
I bet there's thousand people screamin' out
Murder, murderin' ya
Hypnotized, took off my shirt, I got a life

I'm tatted so when I die you can see what's deep my eyes
Trues ride but trues die, my nigga, don't cry
I shedded my last tear when I found out love was a lie
So I try, but it ain't nothin' for my mental

So piss off my pencil, and I blast, dash in a rental
One nigga got out and off he in a trap with sawed off
They took a chance and lost
Let's spray A-K and make gangsta gone

Don't finish the wars when they ain't over
I love you thugs, but all them skeletons got so close
And they got so ? If it ain't ?
This family that don't give a fuck who you are
It ain't nothin' like some trouble, how close? How far?

The Way - Lyrics - Vicious Cycle - Lynyrd Skynyrd

Title: The Way
Album: Vicious Cycle
Artist: Lynyrd Skynyrd
Composer(s): Hughie Thomasson, Johnny Van Zant, Rick Medlocke, Gary Rossington

{AdsenseCode:2D080010-7055-443A-8D12-2B79DDC71256}

Lyric:
Well the sun don't shine where it used to
And the angels are hidin' their heads
People don't listen to their hearts anymore
Seems the good men all are dead

There ain't no right, wrong, no in between
That ain't the constitution they wrote for me
Got our heads stuck in somethin' overseas
Standin' ass deep in hypocrisy

Ooh aah

Well I found myself out on the open road
Heading out into the desert
Lookin' for another world that's waitin' on me
That none of us can see

I keep thinkin' to myself as I move along
Where do we all come from?
Is there religion or another dimension
Another place and time, yeah?

Ooh

When my life is over and done
Finally made my way through it
Another life has just begun
Is this the way you do it?
Oh the way

Ooh

Lookin' in the eyes of the man at the moon
He's starin' down at me
Wondering what he's thinkin' and if he knows
Please let me see

Life is like an open door
We're all walkin' through
Do you know the answers? No one knows the truth
Until we pass on through

When my life is over and done
Finally made my way through it
Another life has just begun
Is this the way to it?

Ohh

Walkin' on the world upside down
It keeps spinnin' round and round
World upside down
I'm so tired of all this bullshit goin' down

Finally made my way through it
When my life is over and done
Is this the way you do it?
When my life is over and done
Finally made my way through it

Another life has just begun
This is the way you do it
Oh the way
This is the way you do it
Oh the way

I Ain'T In Checotah Anymore - Lyrics - Some Hearts - Carrie Underwood

Title: I Ain'T In Checotah Anymore
Album: Some Hearts
Artist: Carrie Underwood
Composer(s): Carrie Underwood, Angelo Trey Bruce

Lyric:
Where 69 meets 40
There's a single stoplight town
And back when I was really young
Part of that burned down

On any given Friday night
We'd drive a hundred miles
Between the Sonic and the grocery store
Laughin' all the while

With as many friends as I could pack
In my daddy's Ford
But I ain't in Checotah anymore

My hotel in Manhattan
Holds more people than our town
And what I just paid for dinner
Would be a down payment on a house

I'd rather be tipping cows in Tulsa
Than hailin' cabs here in New York
But I ain't in Checotah anymore

I'm in a world so wide
It makes me feel small sometimes
I miss the big blue sky
The Oklahoma kind

In a world of long red carpets
The bright lights of Hollywood
All the paparazzi flashing
Could make a girl feel pretty good

You can get anything you want here
Except a Wal-Mart store
But I ain't in Checotah anymore

I'm in a world so wide
It makes me feel small sometimes
I miss the big blue skies
The Oklahoma kind

Where the Wildcats beat the Iron Heads
Old Settler's day and the Okra fest
After prom, down at the bowling lanes
Catching crappy fish in Eufaula lake
I ain't in Checotah anymore

Oh yeah, I'm in a world so wide
It makes me feel small sometimes
I miss the big blue skies
The Oklahoma kind

But I ain't in Checotah
No, I ain't in Checotah
Oh, there's nothing like Oklahoma

Where 69 meets 40
There's a single stoplight town

The Grain - Lyrics - Supreme Clientele - Ghostface Killah

Title: The Grain
Album: Supreme Clientele
Artist: Ghostface Killah
Composer(s): Jo Bridges, Dennis David Coles, Robert F. Diggs, Eddie Floyd, Tom Nixon, Mack Rice, Rufus Thomas Jr

Lyric:
Do you wanna see it? Do you wanna see it?
I'm gonna do it for ya, I'm gonna do it for ya
I'm gonna do it for ya, I'm gonna do it for ya
New Ghostface

Yo deep in the trenches
Wig, young black green beret
Chrome laser guns blazing at spades
Wallabies, cherry noose, kool-aid

10 niggas call it Tai-Chi
Black blades, one hundred dollar seats
Hold up, we at the opera
Queen Elizabeth rub on my leg

Had ketchup on her dress from a whopper
Chunky ass necklace
Must be her birthstone
John Paul cop the biggest stones outta Rome

Told ya eyes up on her prince
Fucking with Diana
Two rows across, Dirty giving hickeys to Vianna White
Fingering Pamela Lee

We on the balcony dare one of ya'll to Malcolm X me
Somebody might catch a Kennedy
Yo let me adjust my lens through these binoculars
I paid 5 G's sliding off like Kid Vitamin

Viking patriot of Broad Street
Bet you think I'm laying like a hyphen

Tony Starks make the narc's dogs bark
With the Benz parked
Up against the boulevard
Starks had the bone sparked

One cop tapped the window glass
Like a cymbal crash,
"What the fuck son! You trying to break glass?"
He flashed his badge,

License and registrations at that moment
His fat partner started chasin'
Chicken heads they was racing
Wit' they hearts pacin'

For snatching gold trying' to dip into the god's basement
Our location lead steel shed spread
Cracked shorty head
Left sweetie there for dead

Ghetto poodles, fingers sticky from cheese doodles
Starving' for a 50 cent bag of Oodles and Noodles
Neighborhood sick wit' it
Clinton 'bout to cut WIC

Maybe one ya'll rich rap niggas need to politic
Reach for the sky
They throw bleach in your eye
Don't teach you why

You be keeping 'em high dipped like an Oreo cookie
In cold milk, bold silk gold-filled cap, Wu wear hat
Low tilt true Islamic we speak verbal rhyme phonics
Why ya'll trying to change this hip hop to technotronics?

Don't go against the grain
(The grain)
Don't go against the grain

Don't go against the grain

Girl, because of you I'm hurting
Within my within my heart
I know it's not right to be flirting
But a relationship has to start

You're the one that I'm clocking
It's time for you to start jocking
Don't want you to see me cry
This is why this is why this is why

I met this girl named Rhonda from way down yonder
Hey yo god don't fuck with her
I met this girl named Liz she was all in the biz
Hey yo lord don't fuck with her

I rocked a hoe named Tina from the heart of Medina
Hey, yo kid don't fuck with her
Yeah, that girl Kit Kat she got the good poodle cat
Hey, yo nigga, you better fuck with her

The Platform (Album Version) - Lyrics - Dilated Peoples

Title: The Platform (Album Version)
Artist: Dilated Peoples
Composer(s): Shelly Manne, Kendrick Davis, Kirk Jones, Alan Maman, Michael Perretta, Rakaa Taylor, Tyrone Chris Martin, Fred Scruggs

Lyric:
Dilated, mind created minds
Every word is heat, feel the impact
Dilated expand, platform, platform, platform, platform

Yo it's time to go on a plane or don't
Either way, the show must go on and that I quote
A cat like me, never knew how to backtrack
I open up doors in fact

I see guys and girls dancin', open up my flows at random
There's no retreat, hold your beats for ransom
No means no and that's the answer
I see in the dark wit my lantern

Triple optic, iriscience, evidence ready to rock it
Of course Babu always in pocket
That's right, example of a show that's tight
Showin' you corny mothafuckers
What hip hop's supposed to sound like

You wanna front what? It's for the heads that know
And if you don't, check the platform and catch a live show
You wanna front what? We pro-game selected
Family is family, world wide connected

You wanna front what? On beats from the streets
Step up party people, every word is heat
You wanna front what? We hit it right and exact
For my peoples in the middle, in the front, in the back

Aiyyo Rakaa's my name, stealth like spy planes
I defy fire armor, hit higher than migraines
Nobody's sorry on what the state of the art be
Clear the runway, I spread wings like Paul McCartney

You're now on static, I leave 'em nervous, in a panic
I'm automatic, every word is cinematic
I turn stages to leaders and turn verses to scenes
And see with your ears, I'm turnin' speakers into screens

Biatchwic Babu blast wit scratch tactics
From my block to rap addicts on fanatic
I gotta hand it to the green-eyed bandit
Like Bam Rock the planet, dilated expand it

You wanna front what? On beats from the streets
Step up party people, every word is heat
You wanna front what? We hit it right and exact
For my peoples in the middle, in the front, in the back

You wanna front what? It's for the heads that know
And if you don't, check the platform and catch a live show
You wanna front what? We pro-game selected
Family is family, world wide connected

This for the ladies lookin' forward to clubs these days
And turntablists, radio, and club DJ's
Rock steady, dilated create to devastate
Nuttin' to prove but then I never hesitate

From rob-one, skate, dream and don D
For all my people put to the test like Gandhi
The platform, takes respect to perfect the art form
At times a battleground where rappers get their hearts torn

Yo our album is nothin' short of incredible
I'm from a place called you know my name clearly legible
Too many days gone by when I ain't feelin' shit
Not just talkin' but doin' it, still revealin' it

The platform, blow trees like bees swarm
Definitely different from the norm, you wanna front what?
Our strategy, mix words wit alchemy
Evidence, I won't get caught shot on the balcony

You wanna front what? It's for the heads that know
And if you don't, check the platform and catch a live show
You wanna front what? We pro-game selected

Between Us - Lyrics - Tracy Lawrence

Title: Between Us
Artist: Tracy Lawrence
Composer(s): Tim Mensy, Tony Haselden

{AdsenseCode:2D080010-7055-443A-8D12-2B79DDC71256}

Lyric:
Sometimes our loves an open door
And we know it's safe inside
But we have slammed it shut before
And locked our hearts outside
But we get a handle on it
When we let go of our pride

Sometimes we put words and walls between us
Lose our heads and gamble with our hearts
There've been trials and tears, doubts and fears
Between us
But when all things pass
It's love that'll last between us

Love has taught us to forgive
And time helps us forget
Still as long as we both live
We'll say some things we regret
But love keeps a workin' on us
Aw 'cause we ain't perfect yet

Sometimes we put words and walls between us
Lose our heads and gamble with our hearts
There've been trials and tears, doubts and fears
Between us
But when all things pass
It's love that'll last between us

There've been trials and tears
Doubts and fears between us
But when all things pass
It's love that'll last between us

Lily, Rosemary And The Jack Of Hearts - Lyrics - Blood On The Tracks - Bob Dylan

Title: Lily, Rosemary And The Jack Of Hearts
Album: Blood On The Tracks
Artist: Bob Dylan
Composer(s): Bob Dylan

Lyric:
The festival was over and the boys were all plannin' for a fall
The cabaret was quiet except for the drillin' in the wall

The curfew had been lifted and the gamblin' wheel shut down
Anyone with any sense had already left town
He was standin' in the doorway lookin' like the Jack of Hearts

He moved across the mirrored room, "Set it up for everyone" he said
Then everyone commenced to do what they were doin'
Before he turned their heads

Then he walked up to a stranger and he asked him with a grin
"Could you kindly tell me, friend, what time the show begins?"
Then he moved into the corner, face down like the Jack of Hearts

Backstage the girls were playin' five-card stud by the stairs
Lily had two queens, she was hopin' for a third to match her pair

Outside the streets were fillin' up, the window was open wide
A gentle breeze was blowin', you could feel it from inside
Lily called another bet and drew up the Jack of Hearts

Big Jim was no one's fool, he owned the town's only diamond mine
He made his usual entrance lookin' so dandy and so fine

With his bodyguards and silver cane and every hair in place
He took whatever he wanted to and he laid it all to waste
But his bodyguards and silver cane were no match for the Jack of Hearts

Rosemary combed her hair and took a carriage into town
She slipped in through the side door lookin' like a queen without a crown

She fluttered her false eyelashes and whispered in his ear
"Sorry, darlin', that I'm late" but he didn't seem to hear
He was starin' into space over at the Jack of Hearts

"I know I've seen that face before," Big Jim was thinkin' to himself
"Maybe down in Mexico or a picture up on somebody's shelf

But then the crowd began to stamp their feet and the house lights did dim
And in the darkness of the room there was only Jim and him
Starin' at the butterfly who just drew the Jack of Hearts

Lily was a princess, she was fair-skinned and precious as a child
She did whatever she had to do
She had that certain flash every time she smiled

She'd come away from a broken home, had lots of strange affairs
With men in every walk of life which took her everywhere
But she'd never met anyone quite like the Jack of Hearts

The hangin' judge came in unnoticed and was being wined and dined
The drillin' in the wall kept up but no one seemed to pay it any mind

It was known all around that Lily had Jim's ring
And nothing would ever come between Lily and the king
No, nothin' ever would except maybe the Jack of Hearts

Rosemary started drinkin' hard and seein' her reflection in the knife
She was tired of the attention, tired of playin' the role of Big Jim's wife

She had done a lot of bad things, even once tried suicide
Was lookin' to do just one good deed before she died
She was gazin' to the future, riding on the Jack of Hearts

Lily took her dress off, buried it away
"Has your luck run out?" she laughed at him
"Well, I guess you must have known it would someday"

"Be careful not to touch the wall, there's a brand-new coat of paint
I'm glad to see you're still alive, you're lookin' like a saint"
Down the hallway footsteps were comin' for the Jack of Hearts

The backstage manager was pacing all around by his chair
"There's something funny going on" he said
"I can just feel it in the air"

He went to get the hangin' judge, but the hangin' judge was drunk
As the leading actor hurried by in the costume of a monk
There was no actor anywhere better than the Jack of Hearts

No one knew the circumstance
But they say that it happened pretty quick
The door to the dressing room burst open and a cold revolver clicked

And Big Jim was standin' there, ya couldn't say surprised
Rosemary right beside him, steady in her eyes
She was with Big Jim but she was leanin' to the Jack of Hearts

Two doors down, the boys finally made it through the wall
And cleaned out the bank safe
It's said that they got off with quite a haul

In the darkness by the riverbed they waited on the ground
For one more member who had business back in town
But they couldn't go no further without the Jack of Hearts

The next day was hangin' day, the sky was overcast and black
Big Jim lay covered up, killed by a penknife in the back

And Rosemary on the gallows, she didn't even blink
The hangin' judge was sober, he hadn't had a drink
The only person on the scene missin' was the Jack of Hearts

The cabaret was empty now, a sign said, "Closed for repair"
Lily had already taken all of the dye out of her hair

She was thinkin' 'bout her father, who she very rarely saw
Thinkin' 'bout Rosemary and thinkin' about the law
But most of all she was thinkin' 'bout the Jack of Hearts

Used To Be Alright - Lyrics - Scenery And Fish - I Mother Earth

Title: Used To Be Alright
Album: Scenery And Fish
Artist: I Mother Earth
Composer(s): Andrew Koshowski, Christopher Koshowski

Lyric:
It's pretty good, the wine
The way that we look
At ten to eight in the morning
Yeah, just talkin'
Still awake in dawn and dew drinkin'
Thinkin' always

Rememberin' the laughs, the time we got high
For seven days down in New Orleans
And it seemed like no one else knew
We were just the moon and sun

In fog before the heat burned it away
And took the sleep from tired heads
On beds of reachin' hands
Road trip, breath and long tall freedom

Then you long for the days
Trippin' down the long road
Just reading' the signs
That show you the way

To higher place, you meditate
To feel the quiet of the earth
Yeah, that was back when we used to be alright

Another shame the way the city smells worse
On a hot day in August, 2 PM
Right before us good movers move
And the shakers break our hearts

Get home to country love
And the garbage dump by
The dried up creek near the forest
That once had a life
And then it turn on the news
Somebody shoot me soon

I'm tired of overheatin'
Fallin' quick to bending knees and broken veins
Of always needin' faith to get to shore
And break all the vows, I've made

Then you long for the days
Trippin' down the long road
Just readin' the signs
That show you the way
To higher place, you meditate
To feel the quiet of the earth
Yeah, that was back when we used to be alright

No time or presence of mind
To wonder why no time for questions
Of why? I wonder why something's wrong?
Again the noise shakes the ground
There's a rage in the crowd
I'm a face in the crowd, face in the crowd
Face in the crowd

What's your name?
You're sinkin' in the sand
Standin' next to me
A river runnin' through your pants
Afraid to trust me when my hands
Are helpin' you

Then you long for the days
Trippin' down the long road
Just readin' the signs
That show you the way
To higher place, you meditate
To feel the quiet of the earth
Yeah, that was back when we used to be alright

Alright, back when the truth was the way
And the [Incomprehensible]
He used to be alright

The Prayer Vi - Lyrics - Year of the Dog...Again - Dmx

Title: The Prayer Vi
Album: Year of the Dog...Again
Artist: Dmx
Composer(s): Earl Simmons

Lyric:
In the name of Jesus, let us pray

Father, please walk with us
Through the bad times as well as the good
May we be heard and understood
From the suburbs to the hood

May You judge us by our hearts
And not by our mistakes
And see that we get a breakthrough
However long that it takes

May You fill that void in our souls
That will lay our fears to rest
'Cause there's no way we can live for Jesus
When we're living in the flesh

So I pray that You allow our spirits to be born
Grow strong, move on, know right from wrong
First John, Chapter Two, Verse 15
Do not love the world or anything in the world

And we know what that means but listen
We know the distance
We need to be away from fire to keep it missing
That doesn't mean we'll listen

Lord, You take care of fools and babies
You teach women to honor their men
And men respect their ladies
But lately so many of us have gone astray
Doing wrong for so long that we've forgotten the way

Please bring us back home
Instill in us the word which is our backbone
We're just children that act grown

There is so much that we're entitled to
Yet we receive so little
'Cause in this time of spiritual warfare
We're comfortable in the middle

So I pray that you open our eyes
Give us the anointing to recognize
The Devil and his lies
If we keep our actions wise and our prays sincere
Our heads to the sky, You will diminish our fears

In Jesus' mighty name
We have prayed, Amen and Amen

Secondary Waltz - Lyrics - Kill to Get Crimson - Mark Knopfler

Title: Secondary Waltz
Album: Kill to Get Crimson
Artist: Mark Knopfler
Composer(s): Mark Knopfler

{AdsenseCode:2D080010-7055-443A-8D12-2B79DDC71256}

Lyric:
The school Christmas party is coming
We ain't doing rugby no more
McIntyre?s teaching us waltzing
Out on the gymnasium floor
Out on the gymnasium floor

McIntyre?s out of the army
You?ll be slippered if you get it one
McIntyre's dim, looms loud in the gym
Well, we've only got a little short song
We've only got a little short song

And it's 1, 2, 3, 2, 2, we?re all a disgrace
McIntyre tore us apart
And we danced with ourselves
When we?d all find a space
Waltzing with fear in our hearts
Waltzing with fear in our hearts

Comes the day of the big final manoeuvres
All of our heads are a whirl
It?s getting much closer to D day
This time we're gonna do it with girls
This time we're gonna do it with girls

In the arena the ladies were waiting
A twelve year old partner to guide
Some matches were fixed, the rest of us mixed
And a fat girl got left at the side
A fat girl got left at the side

And it's 1, 2, 3, 2, 2, we?re all a disgrace
McIntyre tore us apart
And we danced with ourselves
When we?d all find a space
Waltzing with fear in our hearts
Waltzing with fear in our hearts

When you come to my face
And I am under the lights
And you see that my footwork is false
Don't count me out at the start of the bow
I'm just doing the secondary waltz
Doing the secondary waltz
